President Gulf Monetary Council
His Excellency Mr. Turki Dhaifallah Almutairi has been appointed as President of the Gulf Monetary Council (GMCo) effective December 1, 2023, corresponding to Jumada Al-Awwal 17, 1445. Before joining GMCo, His Excellency Mr. Almutairi was the Chief Advisor at Saudi Central Bank since 2022.
His Excellency started his professional career with Saudi Central Bank in 2003 before joining the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC in 2012 as Advisor to the Executive Director for Saudi Arabia. Then he moved to the World Bank in 2015 as Alternate Executive Director for Saudi Arabia in Washington, DC. In 2018, he returned to Saudi Central Bank and was appointed as Deputy Governor for Research and International Affairs, and in 2019 His Excellency was appointed as Deputy Governor for Administrative Affairs. His Excellency had represented Saudi Central Bank in a number of domestic and international committees.
His Excellency Mr. Almutairi holds a Bachelor’s degree with honors from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in management information systems in 2003. He also in 2008 completed a Master’s degree in economics from Florida State University in the US.
