Job Role
Work to carry out the mandates of the Economic Research and Statistics Unit.
Assist the Head of the Economic Research Unit in following up on objectives and implementing the tasks specified in Article 6 of the Monetary Union Agreement.

Key Activities

  • Prepare and deliver research papers, studies, working papers, and periodic reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Report and indicator monitoring reports.
  • Develop, expand, and update economic modeling work.
  • Provide technical assistance to national central banks.
  • Participate in training programs for interns.
  • Participate in the preparation, organization, and delivery of workshops, including preparing presentations and working papers, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders as directed.
  • Prepare periodic updates on developments in monetary and financial topics.
  • Collect data from primary and secondary sources.

Educational Qualifications

Master of Economics, Statistics or related field PhD is preferable.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of experience for Master’s degree holders in the public sector (such as central banks, ministries, universities, etc.) or the private sector (such as regulatory/supervisory entities or similar organizations). A minimum of 5 years of experience for PhD holders. Proven record of published research in the fields of economics, finance, and policy.

  • Professional and Communication Skills:
    1. Proficiency in Arabic and English
    2. Linking Economics with monetary policy and Public Policy
